Our History

This  Victorian Building was built  in 1894.  It became a funeral home in 1924 and served the Gloversville Community as Kennedy Funeral Service, under the direction of father and son Fred and Lawrence Kennedy.  In the mid 1960's the funeral home was sold to Horace Moore who operated the business until 1988.  In January 1988 Mark and Olga bought the business and changed the name to Amico Funeral Home.  This beautiful building has the original hardwood parquet floors, stained glass windows, and oak woodwork.  The funeral home has three chapels and is very spacious.  It is handicapped accessible.  The Amico funeral home is conveniently located across the street from Holy Spirit Catholic Church, formally Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
