Bart Cerasuolo

Bart Cerasuolo, 82, passed away on July 28, 2024, at Nathan Littauer Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Torre Annunziata, Italy on June 26, 1942, the son of Vincent and Anastasia (Nancy) Cerasuolo. He spent his childhood on the beach in Naples, Italy swimming in the bay while his parents ran a small store. At the age of 8, Bart became an apprentice to hair care and design by taking a train to Pompeii to volunteer helping a professional hairdresser around his shop. At the age of 14 he arrived by boat to a port in New York City and began the process of earning his US Citizenship. He graduated from Gloversville High School in 1962. During his years he ran track and field, cross country and was a bowler. He was voted "best looking" "most popular" and "best physique" among his high school peers. Bart had an incredible sense of humor and many friends. He attended Troy Beauty School in the fall of 1962 then earned an advanced hair style training certification in New York City studying at Charles of the Ritz on Madison Avenue. In 1963, he began his profession then opened up his own business "Bart Anthony's Coiffures" then later called "Bart Anthony's Hair Studio" both in Gloversville. He remained in business through June 2024 (61 years). During this time Bart was also in the National Guard 1963-68, came out as an E-5 sergeant. Bart was one of the original five members who started the Miss Fulton County Pageant and worked for the Miss Fulton County Pageant doing hair for ten years. Bart was also a member of the Gloversville School Board of Education for six years 1978-1983. In 1995, while still doing hair, he opened up Oak Tree Landscaping and gardening remained his passion. He particularly enjoyed landscaping for the dental offices of Dr. Andrew Levine. Bart kept a beautiful home, and people were amazed by his "green thumb." He is the proud parent to Bart Cerasuolo (Violetta) and Stacy Wesley. Grandfather to Ella (4), Luca (6), Dr. Kayla Wesley and Cadet Jake Wesley. Bart is survived by his former wife, Donna Cerasuolo as well as his sister Camille Cerasuolo Marotta, Anthony Cerasuolo and several nieces, cousins, and nephews. He was predeceased by his infant daughter, Dina Marie Cerasuolo, parents Vincent and Nancy Cerasuolo, sister Rosa Marie Semione, brothers John and Joe Cerasuolo, and brother-in-law Ralph Marotta. A special thank you to Bassett Healthcare and Nathan Littauer Hospital, and to several friends and family for your love and dedication over these few years. A very honorable thank you goes out to Richard Semione (Bart's brother-in-law) and Donna Cerasuolo (Bart's former wife) for their endless and very selfless care and commitment they provided to Bart around the clock through his final days.
