Sharon Louise Park

December 14, 1942 - February 26, 2022

Sharon Louise Park, 79, passed away on Friday March 4, 2022, at the Fulton Center Rehabilitation and Nursing Home from complications due to Alzheimer’s. Born on December 14, 1942, in Rochester, NY, she was the daughter of the late Chester Walden and Dorothy Mallard Park. She had one beloved sister, Ridgely Mallard Perham, who predeceased her. Sharon graduated from Gloversville High School in 1960, attended Warren Wilson Jr. College in Asheville, NC, and Berea College in Berea KY. She went on to work toward a master's degree at Michigan State University. She taught high school English at the Sawyer School in Lexington, KY, at a school in Glendale, OH and later at Mt. Clemons Convent and St. Lawrence School in Utica, Ml. Sharon also worked for B. Dalton Bookstore and reading was an avid passion she kept up throughout her life. In the late 70’s Sharon returned to Gloversville, New York to be near family and worked as a home health aide until she retired, Sharon enjoyed passing time with a few very close, dear friends and religion always played a significant role in her life. She adored her companion, Whisper the cat, who was kindly adopted by her long-time friend Karen. Sharon was also an avid fan and donor to WMHT and loved listening to classical music. Sharon is survived by her bother-in-law, Ted Perham of Gloversville, her nephew, Randy Perham of Guilford, CT; and her two nieces, Desirée Perham of Gloversville, NY, and Maria (Perham) Siegfried of Manitowoc, WI. A memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of Sharon Louise Park on Sunday, April 3rd at 11:00 am at the Faith Tabernacle Full Gospel Assembly, 2 Warren St. in Johnstown; reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sharon’s memory may be made to WMHT, the Gloversville Public Library or an animal shelter of your choice
