Shirley E Taylor, 98 of Gloversville died April 1, 2022. Born in Gloversville, December 17, 1923, the daughter of the late Chancy and Iva Webster Frederick. She graduated in 1943 from the Gloversville H.S. and attended Gloversville Business School, Shirley worked many years as a glove PK maker for many factories, such as Daniel Hayes, Bachners and Perrella Gloves. In her retirement she volunteered her time helping out at Kinder Friends Preschool. She was a wonderful cook and was especially known for her bakery talents, an avid reader, especially enjoying historical fiction and non-fictional books and cookbooks. She was a former member of Womens Ancient Order of the Foresters, Johnstown ladies of the Moose Club, board member of the Fulmont Agency, Shirley J Luck Senior Citizens Center where she held different positions, and the Daughters of the American Revolution; Johnstown Chapter . She married Harold Taylor in 1949, at Fremont United Methodist Church, where they spent 42 years together until his passing in 1991. Survived by her daughter Betsy McGregor, son in law and devoted care giver John McGregor, brother John Frederick, grandsons Scott and Christopher McGregor. Additional family members Matthew (Joanna) Lillian and Samuel Fredrick, Sharon (David) McGillis, several nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by her brother, Webster Frederick. Friends may call Tuesday April 5, 2022 from 10-11AM at Amico Funeral Home, 150 South Main St. Gloversville, where services are to follow at 11AM. Burial in Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
